MIRROR ON THE WALL-LIL WAYNE

Background

"Mirror" (also known as Mirror on the Wall) is a song by American rapper Lil Wayne from the deluxe edition of his ninth studio album, Tha Carter IV. The song features American pop singer Bruno Mars. The song was released on November 1, 2011 as the sixth single from Tha Carter IV. "Mirror" is Wayne's highest charting single as a lead artist in the UK, peaking at number 17 on the UK Singles Chart. A music video for "Mirror" was filmed in November 2011 by director Antoine Fuqua. The song was certified Platinum by the RIAA for shipments over 1,000,000.

The Video

First off, I'd love to say that this is in my opinion the most artistic song video, with literally hundreds of gang signs and a lot of symbolism. It's the hardest video to understand! The The Official Video begins with a shirtless Wayne rapping to the song in a dimly-lit workshop, while the camera pictures various closeups of his intricate tattoos. As the chorus starts, Wayne is shown painting the room red while the depressed Bruno Mars sings. Wayne is also shown spurting red paint on the wall to form some sort of unknown picture. The rest of the video focuses on Wayne blasting red, black and white paint all over the place. The bridge starts with Wayne doing the Sign of the Cross, before applying final touches to his painting. It is finally revealed that the painting was none other than Wayne himself crucified on the cross, while holding a mic on his left hand, with a rather convoluted background of a face, clouds and lightnings, all toned in magnificent red. He then stares at his masterpiece as the video comes to an end.

Having mentioned that "Mirror" went platinum, what really made this song a success than other songs from the album "Tha Carter IV"? Let's give interpretation a shot!

The Interpretation
To start with, I want to make it clear. I don’t really think this is an Illuminati song(like many people think), but rather a Killuminati song. Wayne is looking in the Mirror and what he see's is himself in god's image. At the end of the video he crucifies himself with music notes behind him and pen and microphone in his hand, meaning he is the savior of rap and illuminati is trying to corrupt him. The crucifixion means he's rejecting the devil from his life and deciding to “die” for his fans.

The Gang Signs
At 00:32 he shows his left palm with the writings “THE WORLD”. That could mean he has the world in the palm of his hands.
At 00:35 we see a drop of black paint falling into a can of red paint. That could mean the forces of darkness are trying to stain him.
At 00:43 he shows a middle finger, the three sixes, and the “B” sign(blood). What I got from that was, he is saying “f*** the devil” or rather “f*** illuminati”.

He also drops the red bandanna, I took that for he quits the gang. I did some research and I learned that once you joined a gang  you never let your gang’s bandanna touch the ground.

At 00:50 he kicks a bucket during the video, also, shows that he gives up on his old ways.

He has a closed fist over one eye and the other eye closed, supposedly meaning no more evil.

In his lyrics he is talking about him and the way his past was, by saying; "your looking at me but I'm looking through you, I see the guilt beneath the shame, I see the pain hidden in your pride, I see your not satisfied and i don't see anybody else, I see myself. I see the truth in your lies." This is a message to illuminati who haven’t really known who he really is and are quick to assume he(Wayne) is a perfect tool of deception for them(the illluminati) that they can use to deceive the world.

In the video we see Wayne’s right hand in red paint, his left in black. That’s dualism(which he doesn’t want). He wants to choose just one side and live his life on that side.

References to MJ's song "man in the mirror":

I'm Starting With The Man In
The Mirror,
(Man  The Mirror-Oh
Yeah!)
I'm Asking Him To Change
His Ways
(Better Change!)
No Message Could Have
Been Any Clearer
(If You Wanna Make The
World A Better Place)
(Take A Look At Yourself And
Then Make The Change)

MJ didn’t just denounce illuminati, he even told them to their face that what they were doing isn’t right! He had to be taken down! Wayne is following in MJ's footsteps to reveal the truth. Just listen to the songs. Really, really listen  and look for the hidden meanings in the background.

Summary
I could say that this song is more of Wayne’s “realisation song” really. He realises illuminati is a reality and doesn’t want to be part of it, just like MJ, and he does this song to openly denounce the cult.
